COMPARISON · UPGEAR VS PESTVYAPAR

Upgear and PestVyapar. How they actually differ.

Both products target Indian pest control operators. Both model customers, contracts, visits, and technician dispatch. This page is for operators choosing between them — or considering a switch — and wanting a comparison that acknowledges where each one is genuinely strong.

The honest framing

Two products built from the same neighbourhood, different architectures.

PestVyapar is a legitimate product built for Indian pest control operators. It covers the operational shape well — customer management, contracts, WhatsApp-integrated quotations, GPS technician tracking, GST-ready billing. For a solo-founder pest control firm with a single branch and no commercial-audit pressure, it can genuinely be the right tool.

Upgear differs in two structural ways. First, our scope is broader — pest control sits inside a wider service-business market that includes cleaning, fumigation, AC service, and facility management. That broader scope forces design decisions (multi-company in Core, multi-site contracts as first-class objects, audit-ready by default) that end up mattering for commercial-audited pest control operators too. Second, compliance is in Core, not upsold — GST e-invoicing, multi-GSTIN, and the dedicated-database-per-tenant architecture were all built into the base product because growing operators need them.

The honest pricing comparison is hard because PestVyapar uses a contact-for-quote model rather than publishing tiered prices. Our pricing is on one public page. The feature comparison below flags rows where we couldn’t verify PestVyapar’s claim from public pages as “Unverified” rather than inventing a status.

When PestVyapar is the right choice

Three profiles where PestVyapar wins.

Solo-operator pest control firms with fewer than 50 customers

At this scale, the sector-specific feature set PestVyapar ships out of the box is well-matched to the operational shape. Upgear’s broader pillar structure is overkill for a solo operation.

Firms that want lead tracking and scheduling and nothing else

If your evaluation criteria are “track leads, schedule visits, send a quotation” and nothing broader, PestVyapar’s narrower scope is an advantage — fewer screens to learn, fewer toggles to configure.

Firms already live on PestVyapar who aren’t growing beyond single-sector pest control

If PestVyapar is working for your operation today and your trajectory stays within single-branch pest control, migrating has a cost (operational change, team retraining) that should clear a bar. It does clear that bar when you cross into commercial contracts, multi-branch, or the AATO e-invoicing threshold — but if none of those triggers are near, staying can be the right call.

When Upgear wins

Four profiles where the architecture difference pays off.

Multi-branch or multi-company pest-control groups

Running two legal entities with separate GSTINs, or three branches in three cities, is first-class in Core. No tier upgrade; consolidated reporting is a dashboard toggle.

Operators above ₹5 crore AATO needing GST IRN

Direct integration with the government e-invoicing portal is in Core. No ClearTax subscription (₹15–30k/yr saved) and no copy-paste ritual at month-end.

Firms pursuing food-plant, hospital, or hotel-chain commercial contracts

The dedicated-database-per-tenant architecture + row-level audit + chemical batch traceability answer most of what these procurement teams ask. You stop losing RFPs at the vendor-evaluation stage.

Operators diversifying into cleaning, fumigation, or facility management

The same product serves all of these without configuration gymnastics. Pest-control-only products force you to either run two systems or bend a narrow product to fit a wider operation.

Switching — how it actually works

Ten to fourteen days. Parallel-run until you’re confident.

Migration from PestVyapar follows the standard Upgear pattern. Days 1–3 we ask PestVyapar for a full export on your behalf (your account, your data). Days 4–8 we map it into Upgear’s import templates — customers, contracts, visits, technicians, opening balances. Days 9–14 are parallel-run — new enquiries land in Upgear, and you keep PestVyapar accessible for reference until you’re ready to turn it off.

Assisted migration is included in Core — no additional fee. Your team’s commitment is a few hours of field-mapping review and attendance at a kickoff and cutover call. Operations continue uninterrupted throughout.

PestVyapar-vs-Upgear questions

What PestVyapar users ask before switching.

Core fields (customers, contracts, visits, invoices, technician data) map cleanly because both products model the same operational shape. Custom fields — PestVyapar-specific configurations you've built for your operation — need a one-time mapping exercise during assisted migration. We look at your field list, decide whether each one should become a custom field in Upgear or a dropdown value, and migrate accordingly. Free, included in Core.
A 14-site corporate pest-control contract is one contract record in Upgear with 14 site children underneath. Visits schedule per-site, billing can consolidate or split per-site, and the single contract stays the source of truth for renewal and pricing. This is included in Core — we don't gate it behind an Enterprise tier.
Honest answer: if your operation is purely pest-control-shaped and you're small enough that compliance and commercial contracts aren't yet driving software choice, PestVyapar may be the right call. Upgear starts winning as operators grow beyond a single sector (facility clients asking for integrated housekeeping + pest control), cross the ₹5 crore AATO threshold (e-invoicing becomes mandatory), or start pursuing commercial contracts where the InfoSec / audit posture matters.
A 10–14 day project. Days 1–3 we assess your PestVyapar export and map fields. Days 4–8 we bulk-import customers, contracts, visit schedules, employees, and opening balances. Days 9–14 are parallel-run — you keep using PestVyapar for existing workflows while new enquiries land in Upgear. Around day 12 most operators choose to cut over. No operational disruption; no fee.
