01What changed
At its 476th meeting on 10 September 2026, the Registration Committee (CIB&RC) scrutinised 1,049 applications to make already-registered formulations under section 9(4) of the Insecticides Act. It found 1,048 satisfactory.
The list includes household and pest-control formulations such as fipronil 0.05% gel, imidacloprid 2.15% gel, propoxur 1% spray, zinc phosphide 1% bait and aluminium phosphide 56%, alongside many agricultural products. Certificates of registration are issued only after the applicant completes KYC and files an original affidavit within 15 days of the minutes being uploaded.
02Why it matters
More manufacturers will be able to sell the same gels, baits and sprays, which usually means more brands and sharper prices from distributors. A satisfactory scrutiny is not yet a certificate, and the CIB&RC is also cancelling registrations of applicants who do not complete e-KYC.
